Brenna's first podium- 3rd at Pt Alberni

Brenna battled with second for much of the race, gaining on the bumps on her mtb, losing a bit on the twisty bits (called The Intestine). It was a super-muddy chistening for the new baby blue gear. Also honorable mentions to:

• *Margot, French exchange student Brenna's family is hosting, who finished 5th, riding a heavy borowed bike (Margot, it builds character)
  *Dad Jim who paid a steep price in support, slipping while photographing the beginner women's race and banging his leg bad enough to force him to drop out of his race after three laps. Then a visit to the Pt Alberni hospital; but seeing the 3 hour wait ("possible broken tibia" Three laps on a broken tibia?!!), decided to drive home, with a stop to photograph Cathedral grove so Margot could see 'big trees'. They also serve who stand and wait.
