Fenders fashionable? Fisher's "Vanishing" fender mounts

Post by Lister Farrar »

Thanks to Eric S who mentioned this this am. Nice to see makers producing race bikes with room and attachment points for fenders.

If a 'cross bike isn't in your plans (the better option so you can get the fun and skill benefits as well as room for bigger tires and fenders), this looks like a great idea to me. A full-on race bike, but suitable for fenders when the weather turns, or it becomes the bad weather bike.

Hey, how about a cross bike with these mounts so you can look Euro cool at races, but still keep your coffee buddies clean? Do the cross models have these? Can't tell from their website.

Hey Lister, I just had a new Bontrager Rigid Fork installed on Dana's cross bike. The aluminum one on the bike she crashed into the deer with broke in the impact. It has these kind of fender mounts. The mechanic at Proc City showed them to me. There are pretty cool.....oops...sorry, did I mention it is a Rigid 'carbon" fork? Maybe not the one for you, eh?

Cool--but does he take fashion tips from Don Cherry? OBB put threaded brake pivot bolts on my old Norco when they mounted fenders for me a couple of years ago.
