Very cool. I wonder how they keep it from inflating at the wrong time? Accelerometers of some kind? It doesn't seem to inflate until needed, even at the beginning of the incidents which might be like normal head movements.

Startling what happens when a cyclist is hit with only a 20 km difference. I had a friend killed on her bike by a drunk, from behind. Even if he braked from 80 down to 50...

But even if it works, the pros will probably fight it like they did with normal helmets, so it wouldn't be euro-cool. :)

Then there's the collar thing, kinda bulky looking. But maybe if it fit inside a conventional helmet?

Wow, that is one focussed cyclist - he didn't even blink when he was hit - that is quite impressive!

No wonder the poor sap got hit--no frigging driver. Kind of reminds me of days on Oak Bay Ave--watch out for cars where you can't see the driver from behind, and really watch out for cars where all you can see is the top of a hat. I think the slow mo shows impact still occurs. Whether that is enough to disperse deceleration forces (that is what messes up your brain) is cool to consider, but I think I will stick with the conventional head gear for now.
