Pushing through the pain

Re: Pushing through the pain
I played with this idea last winter on the spin bike, seeing how far I could push myself on an interval before giving up.
I called them "touching myself in my NO place intervals" I would go about 10 minutes holding a 170-175 heart rate, then push it up over 180 and see how long I could hold on before either the body or the brain allowed the heartrate back below 180.
It's amazing how many times the brain says "ok, we're done", but if you keep going it doesn't shut the body down, just shoots it some more endorphins.
