Saturday "cross"erfest

Post by Josh.E »

ls anybody up for a peninsula cross ride this saturday morning in lieu of the sufferfest? 8) 8) 8)
I know there's been some talk.
Maybe we could leave at 7:00am, so we're mostly in the light?

I'd be interested but I would really like to keep the early start as I have to be back by 10.

I'm interested, but I would like the later start...and still be back at 10. It might be tough to see on the trails any time before that.

I could be in as well. Were you think 'trails and no fenders' cross ride?

My fenders don't really fit with actual cross tires on - and I even have the larger, wider hybrid fenders!

We could do the loop we did with Lister last year. We went out the Goose, and then around Upper Thetis, up and around Steward Mtn, and them some single track across to Munns road. Then across Munns to the back of the Dump and under the power lines all the way across the parking lot and back along West Saanich.

Thoughts on start time/meeting location? I'm definitely going to need a coffee before this one!

yup, off road as much as possible and no fenders, thus the 7;00AM start so we have light. We could do it from the douglas starbucks by mayfair mall, meet at 6:40?
How long did that loop take you guys last time?

I seem to have developed a bit of a cold/flu type badness in the last couple days. I think I'm good to go, but I may have to pull the plug if I'm feeling too bad in the morning..

Sounds good to me. Starbucks on Douglas it is - coffee prior and head out at 7.

I'm thinking if we keep it moving we should be able to do that loop in 3 hours or less. Last time was a bit exploratory, and it took more than 3. I know the route this time though, so we we should be good.

Maybe drop a post later tonight if you think you're probably not going to go. If no one else is going either, I'll probably hit the earlier sufferfest.

Dang! I'd be up for it, but this is the time of year when kids' soccer and rugby start to wreak havoc with my ride schedule. I could make 7am but have to turn around in an hour.. and miss the 'cross part of the ride.

Schweet - I'm still good as well. Cross bike is sparkling, as usual - but not for long!

See you guys in the morning!!!
