Recommendations for a good (quiet) trainer?

Post by Chris Watt »

Anyone? Any key features? I know absolutely nothing about these things but need a decent, quiet one. (if anyone has one they're looking to sell I'd be interested as well)

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris - I got a Kinetic trainer last fall from OBB and it works really well. The feel of it is as close to actually riding as anything I've tried. It's a fluid trainer as opposed to a magnetic trainer. If you'd like to give it a try you're welcome to.

Hi Jeff- thanks for the kind offer; I'd love to try it. Funny- after posting did a bit of research and that was the exact model that jumped out as the best choice. Away this week-end but will arrange something with you in next couple of weeks if that's OK.

Cheers,
Chris

Hey Chris - I am gone from tomorrow until the 30th. If you just can't wait, post here with your phone number and I'll get you into my house where you can pick up the trainer.

Sort of an approved B and E, then? Jeff- thanks but not necessary. Very happy to wait till you're back. Have a great holiday whereever you're going- somewhere a tad warmer than here I hope.

Hey Chris

I've got an Elite Fluid Primo. Very quiet, smooth and self adjusting, so messing around with tension.

Review here: http://reviews.roadbikereview.com/blog/ ... ro-review/

You're welcome to give it a try.

Hey Al- thanks for the kind offer- I'd love to give it a try. I'm away this week-end but if I could borrow it for a couple of days in the next week or so? Let me know when/where it's convenient to pick up- I'm pretty close to you. Jeff has also offered a try on his unit when he's back end of the month; I'll try both then make a decision.

Cheers,
Chris
