So I think todays' ride went well. The new sprint location seems much safer. My only comment is that after teh sprint and we are all shut down rolling into Moka house we need to:
1. not spread across the road talkign about what could have been - stay tight and talk at coffee; and
2. make sure that as we approach Moka House everyone knows if we are going straight down the driveway to Shoal Point or if we are going around the block and through the parking lot. This morning to me it seemed like 1/2 of us were going straight and 1/2 were going around the block...
Anyway good ride. Lets keep that up and keep up the chatter about what TS stands for etc.
My stats: http://connect.garmin.com/player/36973755 Greg M and I almost made it in the second sprint.... soon our turn will come!

Second that. Bow had lots of room to do another victory salute when she won her group's sprint. What more could we want if one of our newcomers feels that comfortable? Besides maybe a photographer? (In case you think she's turning into another Cavendish, don't worry, she had lots of room.)
The girls had their first Tuesday Cedar Hill sprint and it was more competitive than I expected. Alex lead it out, Maddy and Brenna pulled her back and went past. Thanks to Jeremy for help with the girls group.
I also noticed Dave S dropping back to tow Jane up to the group, and teaching her to call out pace changes. Kudos to Jane for sitting tight to the wheel, something beginners sometimes take a while to get. And to Brian E for making the new TS Frankenbike look good as he towed his group along Dallas road.
Finally, some tips on offering feedback to beginners I've gathered from asking them. It's better to notice what they're doing right first, so corrections sit better; no-one wants to know just about mistakes. Pretty soon that's all you can think about.
Also, it's better to tell them right away on the ride than post on the forum if they are doing something wrong. Somehow the forum comes off more severe and lasting. None of them said they mind being told face to face. John did this today for Bryan and he appreciated it.
Language like "Keep your line", vs "You cut me off", "Good line through the corner, maybe brake a little sooner", or "nice pull, but be careful not to cook yourself", seems to work. And the ever necessary "Steady" for "Ease up a bit" and "Good" for "Ok to speed up").
