I'm immersed in studies of cholesterol lately for a few articles I'm researching for Consumer Reports on Health, and knowing that a couple members of TripleShot have been targeted as harbouring evil high cholesterol and treated with a statin such as Crestor, I thought I'd highlight an Austrian study of cholesterol-lowerng in athletes. The average person would experience some level of muscle destruction due to these drugs, perhaps a phenomenon more noticeable if you're working your muscles hard. Check out this study in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology:

You can quote me on this:
"It's better to have high cholesterol than no cholesterol at all."

Article Quote: "withdrawal of statins until after finishing an athletic career may be advisable".
So we should be good to fill those prescriptions when we are about 75 yrs old then.
Interesting paper. Note that almost all who have problems have muscle pain but not necessarily a high CK. If your on a statin and your muscles don't hurt then your Ok - except that your not training hard enough. There's always fenofibrate and niacin.
Thanks Alan. A great reminder that we need to stick to performance enhancing drugs.

Peter,
Of course I'm talking about our favorite drug - caffeine.
Bottoms up,
