girls group

The girls group is continuing this Sunday, 7:30 Fairfield Starbucks. Thanks to Sarah, Kim, and Dolly who rode with the group this past week.

Please pass the word to any high school girls you know that might be interested. The plan (so far) is to keep the girls group seperate as long as they want, then integrate into the regular groups.

June 6 report
Once again the girls showed they have the stuff for TS; four out on a rainy Sunday. Double gloating points awarded to Bow, Amy, Alex and Maddy.

They stepped it up today too; we rode the first part of the regular sunday group. We let the guys rotate in front, the girls drafted well, until near Mt Doug, then we let them go and rode back into town via the Lochside trail. Bow, however, continued with the group and hung in for the whole ride, almost all the way to the sprint on Interurban. (More details needed from those on that part.) Awesome ride Bow! Thanks to the group for keeping it steady for the girls early on.

Ride notes:

• When a light changed as we approached, Amy locked up her back brake, fishtailed and fell. No apparent injury though, and Amy was more cheerful than I would have been. Triple points for her. It's a good incentive though to do a braking session to learn to use both brakes. So, Tuesday am, we're doing braking and cornering at Windsor Park, meeting at the usual Pareto Logic spot. (See seperate topic.)
  
  We had a flat and used it to introduce some changing tips. Almost forgot to check the casing, then found a thorn. Thanks to Alex with the good nails for fishing it out.
