Wednesday morning hills

Post by Brian S »

Buongiorno everyone. Just thought I would finally (given an opportunity with decent wireless access) to post. Having a great trip, with fantastic riding in Tuscany (yes I did hit the weather that had the Giro swimming on one stage). Just came down from the mountains on the Italian/Swiss border. Had a chance to ride a piece of the "queen stage" of the Giro. Actual stage happens Saturday, and 2 of the major passes (the Forcola and the Gavia) are still not open. The Gavia had 5 m of snow earlier this week and the locals were telling us they are cutting 'tunnels'. We rode from Bormio to Livigno as an out and back of the mid part of the stage. Climbing at altitude is a completely different game.

I will up load some pictures later today. Ciao la domaini

These 2 pics are from the top of the passo foscagno, and then the small valley between it and the next passo eira. The Foscangno is the high point before the giro descends back into the town of Bormio to climb the Gavia
