saturday sufferfest for may 22

Post by Josh.E »

In the true spirit of the saturday morning sufferfest......
A couple of us put our collective heads together at coffee this morning, and decided that in addition to lands end, the ride tomorrow should include a couple observatory repeats. What's better than observatory repeats? Observatory repeats after 85K of hammering.

I'm in. I cant wait to hit the Observatory on a Hammerfest! Plus the "value added" second sprint is going to be AWESOME!

I think that the Sufferfest should end on the second ascent of the observatory instead of the usual Interurban spot.....any takers??

sure Pook - You can take last !

No way - Sufferfest protocol calls for regular sufferfest (sprint and all) recollect at the parking lot at the lights right after the sprint. Then we roll en mass to the Observatory where we thrash eachother some more 2x. Folowed by meeting at the gartes after the second descent and hammering the snot out of ourselves along Interurban for final glory. Then and only then its coffee and moaning.

But if you want to quit that is *ahem* "fine".

Peter, your plan is clearly the product of a deranged mind. But count me in anyway for the extended festival of suffering.

But I don't see why we can't incorporate Dylan's suggestion and make it even more interesting; how about we add a sprint finish on the second hill repeat? Then we descend, whimper for a minute and regroup, and sprint a third time on Interurban!

Peter, I think your plan is going to put me over my allotted time limit. How 'bout we hang a left onto the observatory as we pass it the first time, 2x repeats (KOM for glory to the top on the 2nd), then regroup at the top and descend together to start the regular sprint along interurban.

I have a feeling this ride is gonna hurt......

waaah waaaaah waaaah

Interurban is a whopping 5k. it adds less than 7' to the ride.......... but as long as everyone knows I am NOT the one(s) WIMPING OUT its cool :D (I will also totally deny any secret gratitude!)

Why don't we roll out of crappybucks at 5:40 so we can suffer through three sprints and Josh can get home on time?

Just sayin'

i feel sort of obligated to leave at the normal 6 time, as people meet us on the way, some of whom don't read the forum.

Peter, for whatever % time the ride is shortened, you can increase your time at the front by that same %. :D

I am generally in agreement with Dylan and Josh, ie: saving time by catching a few hill repeats on the way to the final sprint/ (the usual humiliating defeat pour moi.) A few of us have to keep our times in line with the boss (ie kids, wives and others who order us about) so adding extra pain onto the plate is not the issue, it's the added time which we will all be most surely whipped if we violate....

I will follow Peter's orders: "SEE NO WIND", and hope to survive. But it doesn't seem likely...

Pedro,

I am SOOOO not wimping out! I just can't add the extra time of sprint to lights, turn around, ride to observatory, and return again to the lights...some of us have, ummm, lives

How about we give the climbers a shot at the final sprint by doing 2 observatory's on the way to the spring as Josh suggests, no regrouping, and a final sprint to the regular spot on Interurban??

Just a thought.
