Giro di Sardinia-2011

Post by Dave Spiers »

OK so I did,nt post any reports while we were away but that was due to internet connections and not because I am a bad race/event reporter. (which I am). Anyway I have been asked several times on the last couple of rides If I had a good time? I had a blast, every day was a different venue and a different challenge. The rides were as hard as you wanted them to be or as easy as you wanted.
I think Peter has done a great job with the race reports so I will not add anything based on a day to day report.
I would say though, that any of the members in Tripleshot would be able to participate in this event. The group that organizes this event does a great job. I have no idea how they do so much for such a small entry fee. Entry fee was 100 euros for the 7 stages, every day had support vehicles, feeding stations, time chip mats, start and finish staging, motorcycle video, still photos, police escort, road signs, marshalls, untold amount of volenteers picking up after the feed stations, two of the bigger races had pasta dinners (which were not just a boring plate of pasta), after each days event there was an awards ceremony.
