Another incredible morning of connection, learning, and unified community. Gorgeous conditions welcomed one road and five gravel groups on a tour of locations significant to Indigenous presence.
We raise our hands to so many people for making this morning possible and for making it flow. To the Lekwungen speaking peoples of the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations in recognition of the unceded and ancestral territories on which we live and ride. To Lynn Cole for her vision and leadership this year and last, for showing Tripleshot Cycling how to actively participate in reconciliation, for making connections with Capital Bike and local Nations, and for grabbing coffee and baking all those tasty loaves and cookies at P2B! To Carey Newman for continuing to give Tripleshot purpose and for sharing his art and stories to help us achieve it. To Jay Cole for hosting us at Power to Be, for permitting us a special opportunity to ride through their amazing site, and for sharing the story of their organization and their beautiful new totems. To Diane Sam for her words and welcome from the Songhees Nation. To Adam and Nikki at Capital Bike for welcoming us to partner on their Reconciliation Ride and for giving Tripleshot some valuable profile in Victoria's cycling community (see video attached); our year-round partnership looks set to grow! To our awesome ride leaders who all stepped up with only a day or two notice and led or swept our five trail groups, ably navigating an overly ambitious ride map (!) and not losing a single rider: Andrew, Andy B., Brad, Dave D., John F., Kevin C., Lynn, Markus K., and Sam. To all the Tripleshotters who stepped up to marshall the CB Reconciliation Ride and stood in intersections directing traffic or rode alongside the masses, representing our club so well.
And finally, thanks to each Tripleshotter who rode this morning and took the time to participate in active citizenship and reconciliation. YOU make this club so great!

Finally, here is a link to the documentary film I mentioned in front of Carey's Legacy Totem at Oaklands. If you have the space tonight or another time, please give it your time. "Picking Up the Pieces: The Making of the Witness Blanket": https://humanrights.ca/story/picking-pi ... ss-blanket
