Mark your calendars!

Post by Jill »

Spring and hope are both in the air, so it seems like a good time to set out some dates for our classic Tripleshot summer rides.
These dates are of course subject to all the typical Covid caveats..... current health orders, cycle BC group riding rules, etc so the exact details won't be confirmed until we get closer to the time of each ride.

So here goes ...
  • May 23 and 24 (Sun/Mon long weekend) Three Ferries Ride. The ride will not be supported this year and we assume that there will be enough interest to run this over the two days. Barring a covid miracle, we will likely need to limit the number of riders each day so as not to overwhelm coffee shops/restaurants on SSI.
  • June 20 - Silly Summer Solstice ride
  • July 25 - Big Loop ride (260KM). This ride will be a supported ride.
  • Aug 15 -Hurricane Ride - dependent on the border being open of course.
  • Sept 19 (Aug 21 GTR ride cancelled due to busy BBQ weekend)- Great Trail ride. We thought we would run this twice as expectations are that there will be a lot of interest. This is not a supported ride (although you may get a beer at the end 8))
Stay tuned for details at a later date....and get out and enjoy the sun!

I’d love to think we could get an Olympic Discovery Trail weekend in late September, too. 8)

Oh, but maybe this is the reason it didn't make Jill's preliminary list:

The Olympic adventure trail trip sounded great too. (Or are we talking about the same thing?) Hope it’s not on a Cross on the Rock weekend though.

That was such a great day! We lost our ODT virginity together in the late June sunshine. Next time, Jill will be there too.

Thanks, Rolf for posting that photo -- Jill just pulled out the prenup.

That said, I'll be the first to admit that I'm an incurable flirt.

Hi Jill

If you need volunteers for the big loop, Tracey and Rosie are happy to help.

I heard COTR might start a little later in sept this year. How about the weekend after labour day? What’s the limiting factor? The accomodation availability?

A day trip is doable but it is much more fun to stay a night. Here is where we stayed last time. Sleeper cabins (no plumbing) and an A-frame are available for Sat. Sept 11 but the "rustic" cabins (with plumbing) that we stayed in last time are not. Would need to book soon.

Jim had mentioned being support for the big too since he might still be recovering from his knee replacement 😊

Hello friends!
I look forward to joining you on some of these rides starting with the 3 ferries May 23rd. We will be in Victoria for most of the summer.
