Annual Backpack Ride

Post by Hranson »

Calling all backpack riders! You know who you are… the hearty, the strong, the heroes of Tripleshot!

Friday July 31 is the Tripleshot Backpack ride in support of the Mustard Seed Foodbank. The foodbank is seeing incredible use right now due to unemployment stemming from COVID-19. Summer is also a time of fewer donations, so it is Tripleshot to the rescue!

The hearty and strong can bring a backpack full of non-perishable items to the start of the ride at Oak Bay High and place them in my car. The heartier and stronger can ride with their packs and I’ll meet you at Shoal Point at the end of your ride. All other heroes can donate online, by phone or with a cheque (please add in the notes that it is in support of the Tripleshot ride so we can tally the donations after the ride!).

Here are all your options:
1. Online at https://mustardseed.ca/donate-to-the-mustard-seed/ (indicate in the notes that it’s for the Tripleshot fundraiser)
2. Over the phone with Jeremy at 250-953-1581
3. Etransfer to etransfer@mustardseed.ca (indicate in the notes that it’s for the Tripleshot fundraiser)
4. Via cheque made out to “The Mustard Seed Street Church”. Mailing address is 625 Queens Ave. V8T 1L9. (indicate in the notes that it’s for the Tripleshot fundraiser)

Thanks in advance for your Tripleshot spirit!

Hi Heather. I don't think I ever saw an update on how our efforts added up on backpack ride day. Can you provide any info?

Hi everyone,

This is an update from the Mustard Seed on our Backpack ride donations. We raised an impressive $1225!!!! I also delivered 3 rubbermaid bins of food to the warehouse. They didn't weigh it, but my bathroom scale put it at about 25 pounds.

Thank you all for your donations. A little from all of us makes a big difference to folks who need to top up their groceries when they run out mid week or in the middle of the month. If it slipped your mind to donate during the ride, it is not too late. Back to schools is expensive and some parents have to make the decision of new runners or breakfast. You can help them do both. https://mustardseed.ca/donate-to-the-mustard-seed/

Cheers,
Heather
