Ordering Champ-Sys rain jackets; deadline June 12

Post by joannafox »

Youth team coaches are putting in an order for Champion-System 'breathable and wind/water resistant" rain jackets. If we can get a minimum of 10 jackets (currently at 5) we can get the TS logo on the front.

"Constructed of CS Seamless Technology, the entire jacket does not use traditional sewn seams but instead all seams are bonded.
CS Seamless Technology increases circulation and improves comfort not to mention it will keep the rain and wind out."

More info here: https://www.champ-sys.ca/products/custo ... ain-jacket

They're $84 + GST/PST; not sure about the shipping costs; I believe a group order has free shipping. The shipment will come to the same place (our house) so imagine it won't be $$. Suggesting $95 all in. Delivery time could be 5-6 weeks....in time for fall rain (not for June rain unfortunately).

If you'd like to order one, pls email competerecoaching@gmail.com or text Joanna at 250.532.2312 with your name and size. I will need $$ up front.

Order deadline: Friday, June 12, 2020 at midnight.

Hey all who ordered rain jackets.....apparently the order was shipped a few weeks ago. We had been told it would be between 4-6 weeks from order date, so was always thinking mid-late August. As soon as they arrive, I will let you know so you can pick up!

A final update on the Champion-Systems rain jackets.

Bad news: clear ones that you ordered are not coming

Good news: we have alternate options

I’ve been dealing with the rep at Champion-Systems who is very embarrassed. Here’s a summary of his emails to me over the last few weeks:

“They were due to ship on July 20th, the company said the order was marked as "complete", however the factory completely dropped the ball with this order in the wake of a personnel change: not only was the order not shipped without notification, but the clear rain jackets have been retroactively discontinued entirely due to material availability.

This is incredibly embarrassing. Although we've experienced periodic pandemic-related material shortages over the past few months, the factory thought they had a stash of the clear material, but not enough to make 23 jackets.

This is absolutely mortifying on my end. Please rest assured that this issue has been escalated to the global ownership level, and I look forward to providing you with some concrete information by early next week. Regardless of the outcome, we will take care of you on our end. This isn't how we do business, and you have my sincerest apologies. We will make this right.”

They are "making this right" with 3 alternatives with (you can pick any option):

1) Transition into a black rain jacket in an identical translucent material, with a ship date of September 28th; they are translucent just like the original version except it is not as “clear” since it is black giving it a smoky look. Apparently you can certainly see the race number underneath the jacket on the rider. And Lister suggests that it won’t show the dirt like the clear one. TS logo will be on jacket as long as we have at least 10 ordered (current order is 23).

2) Issue you a full refund with apologies; or

3) Offer a discounted upgrade ($249 vs $299) into the windproof/waterproof/breathable Apex DValpine Wind Jacket, colour-matched to a current jersey sample. This is a pro-level jacket developed for UAE Team Emirates, with a vast improvement in breathability over the clear jackets. This option would take longer as CS needs current jersey vector artwork to make a proof happen, and a physical jersey sample to send to the factory for colour matching.

Lister and I looked at options with Pactimo and Endura, but one only ships to US and the other only to UK.

In order to get the shipment of black ones for those who want them, I need to know what you'd like to do ASAP. Deadline Monday, Sept 21 at noon.

If you are seriously ONLY wanting a clear one, here is a very good option through Chain Reaction https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ca/ ... prod165995. This is the Endura one the company doesn't ship from UK but Chain Reaction does and sometimes charges duty depending on the $$ of your order; you will have to ask for a refund from Champ-Sys through me and then do your own order. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ca/ ... prod165995

Sorry folks, it's been a real roller coaster, pls let me know by replying to competerecoaching@gmail.com by Monday, Sept 21 at 12 noon. Thanks, Joanna

LAST UPDATE: This in from Champ-Sys:

"The factory has confirmed a September 28th ship date. On behalf of the entire global Champion System team, please convey my apologies to your athletes for the delay and material substitution. We hope your crew enjoys their new gear!"

Once I receive the refund for the 2 of 23 jackets, I will etransfer those who requested it. When the jackets arrive, I will notify those who ordered to arrange pick up - they are all coming to once place to reduce postage costs. J

They're heeeeerrrrree.....I'll send a note to all who ordered with pick up details shortly. They look great, in fact the TS logo really stands out on the smoky grey vs the clear.
