Other than a $200+ Thomson Elite, no one makes one. Max at Fairfield offered to lathe down a Kalloy 25.4. You can stand down your parts box archeological dig. Your 70’s Alan project is safe.

In a weird cosmic coincidence, Open Bikes (the Vroomen company), announced today their new road bike will have a 25 mm seat post. https://opencycle.com/updates/keep-an-o ... DECDC16EE6 (I think for flex for comfort.) Now you know where to get a budget replacement if you ever break yours. (Edit: I read the fine print; Open’s new bike has a 25 mm seat mast and saddle clamp over cap, so no seatpost. (Sigh) Cosmos back to random. But Riley Pickrell is now doing carbon repairs, so there’s that.

Max has custom machined things for me before. According to my daughter’s shop teacher, he was a star pupil when he was in central middle school. Recommended if you have something weird needing doing.

(End of random bike geekery facts.)

Max gently bent my ‘86 Bianchi frame around a 9-speed cassette to facilitate brifters on my first Tripleshot-era bike. Bit of a magician, for sure.
