Friday, February 28: Please read on ...
Would someone please present a route idea for tomorrow, or at least a poem? And please make it good because I've been stuck in science nerdsville for the past month and need a good brain enema.
Claire-Bear? Rolfi-Delphi?

Don't forget Ronald!
I'm bringing muddy tires so hopefully someone leads so that I can actually find my way home....

I'll go with whatever route is suggested. As for a poem, I went into my archives (this from 2014) back when I was on a Trek and Rolf on his Bianchi
Eating and Biking.
One fact is quite striking,
about eating and biking.
And evidence galore,
too strong to ignore,
of the strong correlations
To one’s gastric fixations,
And the steed one tends to adore.
For example:
Those thinking of ham ‘n’ quail,
Probably prefer riding Cannondale.
And simple sods slurping green jello,
You guessed it, they’re riding Cervello.
While knobs (like me) on an Armstrong Trek,
Suck power gels and goo and drek,
And lovers of cheese’n’macaroni,
Look stylish on their Marinoni,
And Rolf who doesn’t give a damn.
Will eat anything before a dental exam,
Bread’n’ onions so he won’t feel all bonky,
then sallies forth on his steely Bianchi.

No slight on Ron, he's the man - with maps, on the trails, at coffee, and of course when it comes to man scents ..

Hill climbing! Mt tolmie, then Mt Doug, then Mt Tolmie again! Not much for gravel but a good workout.
I only half jest. If I have one taker I'll do it.

There once was a man from oak Bay
Who gleened climate data all day
The vital statistic
Was quite pessimistic
So, ____ it, he went out to play.

In...for not Ron’s route.
Camosun, Uvic, Haro would be beaut.
Ten mile would bring smiles.
Or Rolf’s 15(?) school yards would take awhile.

Hill climbing. It's like the vegetarianism of cycling!

Does it feel like this, JT?
How's this new juxtaposition of tried-and-true bits, Megan?
Only one Tolmie...

Looks great. Thanks Rolf!

And Ron, there are other people who like to do boring, repetitive hill repeats on the road, and other things in order to get strawwwwwngahhh! They even conveniently meet at the same time and place we do.
I get the sense you just might end up taking most of our experience—that of having veered off into the gravel after years of road-riding—and turning it on its head!
Seriously: road riding really does have its pleasures. Time for a new bike/wheelset!
