Sunday, Feb 9 - Rippin' Hartland
I've been drinking lots of coffee and listening to early 80's thrash metal so retrying last Saturday's Hartland ride seems like a real good idea

The approach to Hartland has been updated to avoid known floodplains but the goal of a fast counter-clockwise loop through Hartland remains the same. Good weather is in the forecast but there is bound to be lots of water about. Plan to face gnar (9/10), be stubborn, and get your feet wet while grinning. Depart Fairbucks at 6:30am and budget ~4hrs to do 60km.
P.S. I fully expect a tamer ride to be posted. Enjoy!

Ron, interested. Need to repair my CX bike first. If I get it done tomorrow, I’m in. Fairbucks 0700?

I love early 80s thrash metal, Ron. Here's your route as a GIF:
I likely won't make it out. Rip it up!!

If I get my gears working, I'll meet you at chgc at 0645.

I also am a closet (or not so closeted) 80’s metal fan but I’m not sure the first ride back for my hand should involve pulling hard to get up the miserable regional trail nor smashing down Trillium. On another day though.
Musing other options if others are feeling the same.

Well...A good plan is a flexible plan! My Plan A fell through....I'll be at Fairbucks for 0630! Looking forward to ripping it up with the metal crew!

I hate metal, but if I were in town I'd still be there to help you head-bangers through the technical bits,
both physical,
and mental,

I think I might start calling my cross bike "Lightning"....Then it's a true thing that I'd "Ride the Lightning"

Just don’t fetter the experience by recalling how James improved an already stonking chewn a hundred-fold in Seattle, 1989, by changing the lyric to “DI*KR*SH!!”schouten wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 6:22 pm I recommend having this song stuck in your head for the ride:

I can’t un-hear it.

I think that is the new word to stop yacking and get riding
