If I know the mileage in advance, I might plan my next couple days so that I finish on this ride. And then I might--in my giddy euphoria--buy a round. Just sayin'.

Martin, I'm thinking about 50km. Pretty mellow route... waterfront, Royal Oak, Interurban... A 9am start makes it easy to add additional kms before (in daylight, even!) and/or after.

Make mine a Shirley Temple.

Route will be as Claire described.
Fernwood up to Johnson. Turn left onto Johnson and follow Oak Bay Ave to waterfront. Around waterfront to royal oak, west Saanich to Interurban, and back in to the Fernwood.

In. Good call Fozzy, a TS ride that doesn't necessitate getting up in the middle of the night to make the start

I'm going to utter those dreaded words (perhaps to no one's surprise): two groups. If only those who've replied here attend, we will be a group of 17. It's likely more will come to ride without posting. And since our club's unwritten policy is to split groups of more than 16...

Just sayin' there's all sorts of good reasons to split in two. It also makes sense to split based on pace (let's call them B1 and B2) for the benefit of most. No hard feelings. Just logic. Route sounds straightforward and we can make our way at whatever pace(s) to the Fernwood en masse. Since that's where the quality socializing will occur anyway!

Brunch will be so tasty after a little social spin with bike friends. :D

The few clips I took are up here, Norm. You can find the embedded video at the tail-end of the 2019 section. :P

I didn’t have time to join you guys for brunch. :( But if others took photos, I’d be pleased to throw up a gallery...
