Sunday, Aug 4th - Abbr. Great Trail
TMB;DR
Great Trail ride to Goldstream Heights plus some exploring of trails unknown at the top. Meet at 6:30am at the corner of Fort and Richmond. 6:45am pick-up at Switch Bridge.
Tentative route: https://www.strava.com/routes/20777115
The exploring bit at the top is based on what I could see on Strava. I have no idea what is rideable but JT seems to have an inclination so we'll follow his lead. This is squarely a double ride. Bring lots of water too.

Read on for colourful banter and inappropriate GIFs.
Hi Folks,
I need a good ride to help shake off my vacation laziness. If there are any CXers that feel like coming out, I'm open to ride suggestions, but currently plan to tackle a rip up the Great Trail to Goldstream Heights and back.

Sweet, Ron! This would be a perfect way to re-christen the knobbies (and lose a little bit of that holiday lard.)
On our Great Trail run in May, we needed about 2.5 hrs. from Alphabucks to the Goldstream Hts. vicinity—which included about 45 minutes of pee-breaks, re-groupings, and tending to the stricken & fallen.
To accommodate a 10:30 breakfast back in town, and to allow for a few inevitable flats (but hopefully no busted bones), would you consider a 6:30 a.m. departure? Fort and Richmond?
Now to transform my bicycle so it's ready for anything...

Cool. I don't know about you, but as soon as I turn uphill these days, everything gets slow and heavy.
So if anyone reading this is interested but concerned about pace: don't be!

Re: Sunday, Aug 4th - Abbr. Great Trail
Referring to the giphy above, my only concern is with where Rolf is putting his wiener these days.
I'll be there at 6:30 am, together with an idea for a little excursion at the top of the Great Trail to the West.
Re: Sunday, Aug 4th - Abbr. Great Trail
What I'm talking about, Ron, is when we get to the top of the GT instead of turning right on pavement via Trail Way to Goldstream Heights, we turn left. What I see on TrailForks and Google Maps (satellite view) is probably a logging road that connects to a road/trial under the powerline coming back to the GT south of Trail Way. I'm not sure it's worth it, but it is something different than an out-and-back.

I tried to follow the ride planning here but couldn’t due to all of the meanderings so I’ll be hitting the road instead...

Oh heavens! Rob’s confused. Someone draw a picture, stat!
Sometimes being unable to find our own posteriors—even with a pair of paws and a pocket torch—remains part of the TSCX charm, Mr. D. I truly hope you’ll put up with us (and some uncertainty) again in the future. I miss your irrepressible mien.

We should add a TMB;DR (too much banter; didn't read) section to the top of every thread with just the pertinent information for all the TSCX Robs out there.

May I suggest breakfast at the new diner in Paul's Motor Inn. It has just opened to great reviews,
