Victoria Women's 100 - Sunday, July 28th

Post by shawn »

Hey, there women of Tripleshot. Do you remember that great ride we had last summer where 65 women showed up at a moment's notice to ride together? It's back! This year's Victoria Women's 100 (with a 50km option for those looking for a shorter spin) is happening on Sunday.

This annual ride is intended to bring together female cyclists from around our city to ride together, meet each other and celebrate cycling in our beautiful city.

Last year I hosted the event at Broad St. Cycles and this year we are running it from Straight Up Cycles, with co-sponsorship from BSC and Velofix.

Yesterday a group of 6 of us from Victoria (TSC ladies!) made the trip up to Nanaimo to ride in the MIVA Diva 100, which has the same intent and same format as our ride. It was an awesome day! So cool to meet other islanders and to have locals show us their fantastic roads. We are hoping to see some of them at our ride this Sunday.

Here's the link to the information and to registration:

We had a fantastic event! More than 60 women from all around the city (and Nanaimo) came together to ride. We had a strong contingent of support from Tripleshot members, both on an off bikes. Watch for this event again next year...when we will try to avoid putting it on the same day as the Big Loop :)

Passing you on Wharf and again at KGT, I saw lots of smiling faces. Thank you Shawn, BSC, Straight Up, and Vélofix, for demonstrating the value of a healthy LBS scene.

It was great to see you, Rolf!

We also had generous support/donations from Vessel Liquor (post-ride prosecco for everyone!), Fort St. Cycles, and 11-Speed Coffee.
