Woohoo!!! This is an excellent and very CX friendly route to take; and without an ounce of hike-a-bike. It felt pretty remote at times and we only encountered a few people on the trail.
By the numbers:
The trails were almost all well-maintained, swoopy single track but nothing that would be considered technical - just super fun, grin-inducing, cross riding. The elevation gain was enjoyable too, with ample switch backs and rain forest to keep you distracted. The unintentional beauty of the ride came at Crescent Lake where we found the ultra-generic "Log Cabin Resort" and had access to fresh drinking water (supplies were dwindling), a general store (salty chips!), and even a fancy restaurant to order food (bonk fixing).
Instead of riding back the way we came, we opted to return along a nice smooth lakeside road as the trail riding pace was only 10km/h and we didn't want to sacrifice beer drinking time (Coyote Pub), but we could have re-joined the Adventure Trail at a few access point had we wanted to (recommended if highway shoulder riding ain't your thing).
All-in-all, a 10/10 ride that begs to be ridden again!!! Or even turned into a multi-day ride...
