This morning, in support of mashby and against all of the negative responses, I tested his most recent route proposal + one clockwise loop of CHGC (on my crossbike).
Here is my ride report:
1. Depart 5:30 am
2. Flat, climb, flat, climb, flat, climb, flat
3. Arrive PV at 7:20 am, 46 km.
Next time mashby is in the lab late at night playing with his Strava chemicals, I hope he recalls the outcome of this experiment:
Mashby's mashup: My ride report

You flatted four times on one road ride? Sounds like the CrossFondo.
Y'know, there's an easier way to brag about doing all that solo vert 15 minutes faster than mashby, JT: change your privacy settings on Strava.
But then Mrs. Tyre might notice how many Uplands backyards you lurk in on the way home from work. And all those mournful loops of the razed Monty's Showroom.

Why is Brian May smelling his fingers?

Nice work JT. I cycled a similar route (somehow a smidgen more elevation and kms) Wednesday evening and it took me 2.5hrs

Don't feel bad Ron. I'm pretty sure JT had the bricks with the weight-saving holes in them in HIS panniers, not the ICU regulation solid ones.
