!!UPDATE!!

To all that I have e-mailed about the time trial.
The start time is 4:00pm and NOT 4:30pm as I stated.

Can you all ensure that you get to Clover Point a bit earlier please (3:00 - 3:15pm), so we can get everyone briefed and to their stations please?

Cheers

Another update.

Jon Watkin has sent out some further info.
The course will be ridden on the left hand side going clockwise and not anti clockwise like usual.
I just want to ensure you all know that when looking out for racers and directing pedestrians.

Cheers

Full communiqué on the route changes here.

Most of you are probably en route to volunteer, but here are a few tips for volunteering for this event:
  • it's nearly always windy and colder than expected; bring extra layers in a backpack (it's also nice to wear Tripleshot stuff on the outside, so our club contribution is visible);
  • bring some good leather work or gardening gloves, it makes handling the big, (sometimes rusty) fence components much more pleasant;
  • bring a bunch of pocket food: bars, jerky, M&Ms, trail mix, etc.; it might be just me, but aforementioned cold = *hunger*—and the event is over the dinner hour;
  • your primary duty when marshalling is to control the road and keep riders and non-riders safe; no matter where you're marshalling, expect pedestrians/non-competitors to sometimes do silly things, including seriously underestimating rider speeds; it's good to loudly call out "Rider up!" every time one approaches (or bring a safety whistle you can tweet and save your voice); and
  • print the start-list (available here), or just pull it up on your phone; you may find knowing who riders are, what category they are in, and who's coming next, allows you to stay fully engaged and enjoy spectating the event much more.
Sad to miss the racing. Maybe see you to help clean up...

Tripleshot volunteers you are tough and wonderful. That was a cold and longer marshalling pull, but great to be a part of the Masters Nationals!

To all the Tripleshot volunteers,

Thank you!! That was a LONG afternoon and evening on a windy, cold Friday that you spent making us all safe and feel supported. A number of riders commented on the great volunteers, and to hear the cheering made the pain a little bit easier to bear! Kudos to all who raced this weekend; seeing the juniors out everywhere was a wonderful reminder of what the sport can be.
