Here's an update from Sidney Velo on this year's Tuesday night time trials.
Interestingly they are going to have a category for those without tt bikes/arrow bars ... the Eddy Merckx no-aero category.
Also, they still need volunteers, if anyone can help ...

Hi, Velos, time trial riders, and friends. The 39th season of the Sidney Velo Tuesday Time Trials starts on April 23rd at 6:30 PM (7 PM for April 30th and on). It’s on the same course as since 2011, but new for 2019:
Registration/start/finish moves to Lochside Drive at the McTavish Interchange to get away from the over-crowded parking lot at Cy Hampson Park.
Participant/spectator vehicle parking is at the south end of the BC Transit McTavish Park & Ride lot at 2095 McTavish Road on the west side of Hwy 17.
Access to the time trial registration/start/finish via the cyclist/pedestrian overpass to Lochside Drive.
On-site registration from 6 PM for $6/race (free for U19) or $60/season (17 races), and season pass riders can get early start times.
On-line registration from 7 AM to 4 PM on race days for $6/race + $1.94 service fee, and will get early start times.
Eddy Merckx non-aero category for ages 19 and up, in addition to the traditional open aero category.
Please go to www.sidneyvelo.ca for all the details, including the Tuesday Time Trial Rules.
Victoria Cycling League nights are April 23, May 14, June 25, and July 9, which should have an above average number of riders.
For the April 23rd 6:30 PM start, we will open registration at 6 PM and continue it until 6:50 PM.
Participants and spectators are asked to NOT park on Lochside Frontage Road at the McTavish Interchange; we need those few spots for our equipment, first aid, and volunteer vehicles.
SPEAKING OF VOLUNTEERS:
I'm sending this on behalf of Ian Birch, Volunteer Organizer.
Once again we are looking for your generous support to hold these events. There are 120 positions to be filled - marshals, bike holders, back up timekeepers, etc. Shifts range from 1 hr. to 1 1/2 hrs. Experience is not necessary - we will instruct as necessary on the evening.
What I would like from you by April 15 is a commitment to ideally work a minimum of 2 shifts and respectfully ask that you find your own replacement if you can't do your scheduled shift, or switch with someone else and advise me at ian.birch@shaw.ca.
WHAT TO DO
1. If you know the specific dates, open this web page (Signup Genius), check the relevant boxes and submit. There is no need to open an account.
- your e-mail address is only provided to me. Signup Genius protects your information.
2. If you are flexible on dates do NOT open Signup Genius, but submit the details to me by email (ian.birch@shaw.ca), including positions you want to fill and dates that are not good for you. I will fill in the schedule. I'll send out a schedule once it is finalized and it will be put on our website. Feel free to forward this to other groups. Thanks for your continued support.
Finally, remember to KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!, as the most common cause of serious time trial accidents has been a rider running into a rider or vehicle in front of them.
