Mt Tolmie construction

Post by Greg F »

Maybe the Weds Hills regulars are already aware, but for those who haven’t enjoyed the swooping ribbon coming down off Tolmie lately (Mayfair Dr near Cornwall), there’s a steel plate and a line of dirt across the road.

I think you mean Cromwell. Cornwall is in a different part of the city. ;)

Easy mistake. If you ask Trotsky or any royalist historian, Cromwell was a patsy of the revolutionary bourgeoisie.

And Cornwall gave the world the pasty.

 That may be. For me it was fairly obvious though, but that's because I am extremely familiar with where Cornwall is. ;)

FYI, the location of the former plate is now a slightly less-than-smooth piece of new asphalt. Still bears exercising some caution as there is a skiff of sand and gravel in the general area. And crews may return at some point to make it properly flat. Or maybe I'm just fantasizing about living in a city that cares about smooth road surfaces. So silly of me!
