CBC Board voting

Post by Bosie »

HI,

Most of you will have received a notice with regard the CBC Board election and AGM.

The AGM this year is in Victoria on Oct 25. The venue is Camosun College and I would encourage anyone interested to attend. At the very least, you can meet the Executive Director and pick her brain around Cycling BC's vision.

With regard to voting for the Board, I would encourage all members to vote as this is your organization. I have been privileged to have been voted in in the last two elections through the efforts of the club and fortunately do not have to stand this year again:). I am happy to report that through engaged membership on the Island, The Island is currently well represented by myself, Jon Watkin and Parker Bloom. Jon and Parker have been great additions to the Board and are positive influences.

In this years election, I only know one candidate well: Willa Kriebel. Willa has been one of the strongest members (if not the strongest) of the Board for the last 2 years. She is dedicated and has been instrumental in helping develop the organization, supporting the ED, and maintaining the focus. She is exactly the sort of Board member the organization needs as she does not have a political agenda other than to see the sport and organization grow. I am personally hoping that she is once again elected as she will help maintain the growth that the organization has managed to achieve under Erin's Leadership and the Board direction.

If members are looking at where to cast their vote, a vote for Willa would not be a wasted vote.

Just a reminder to people that Cycling BC is coming all the way over to our island to make it easier for us to attend the AGM. Let's try to show up so they decide it's worth it and come over here again.

Also, if you're at the Thursday TTT ride tomorrow, can you announce this?

7pm Camosun College, Oct 25.
