Re: Sarah and Riley announced to lead Junior Worlds team
This one of those moments when it's good to remember all the folks and efforts that helped lead to this:
Both riders are remarkable individuals; they came with talent, were ready to show up regularly, were organized, looking to have fun, and take some risks. They chose their parents wisely of course, but those parents sure did their bit; let them choose their path, with lots of sports, adventures, and balance with school, friends, and family. (for eg both kids are A students.) Congrats to James, Lisa, Susan and Doug.
TS was a big part too. Back when Brenna was in grade 9, she dragged her dad out of bed to ride at 6:00 am, won provincials, wanted to ride more, asked for coaching, and president Peter Lawless (who had started the club from the inspiration of the Spin Doctors) proposed to the club to support a youth program. That lead to all those rides, supported by club infrastructure for affiliation, insurance, club kit; moderating debates, but always standing up for the values of the club: room for everyone, try hard, look after each other.
Thanks also to Kurt Innes, our partner track coach for 5 years in FastTrack with the GVVA, then the TS performance program last year, until family called him away last fall.
There's a long list of others who contributed:

Congratulations to Riley and Sarah ...... and ALL of the people that have supported you. As Lister has so aptly described, the efforts of many lead to the successes we have all had the pleasure of witnessing. And a shout out to Lister who left himself off the list.
Good luck!!

Just a quick note to say congratulations to Sarah and Riley, and to thank everyone who has supported this great youth program--that includes our founders, our Coach Lister, our sponsors and ALL OF YOU!
Also wanted to note that something like this isn't just a great opportunity...it's also a big financial challenge for the athletes. One could typically expect to pay over $6000 for transportation/accommodations/training camp for an event like this.
Tripleshot has "passed the hat" in the past to help out young athletes in situations such as this. If you'd like to help out Sarah and Riley, consider bringing a contribution to Fozzy or Jill at a ride. If you'd like to make a larger tax deductible contribution through the club, let me know.
Cheers!

Massive thank you to everyone in Tripleshot! I think everyone contributed to my cycling whether it was little pointers and helping me out on morning rides or the community coffee stop and chats afterwards. (Hot chocolate for me ;P) The simple pleasures of riding is something the Tripleshot club does an excellent job of and I feel this community has helped me fall in love with this sport and move me to where I am. Thank you to everyone, whether you've donated or not, you've helped me create this adventure and opportunity that very few have. I am extremely grateful and hope to see you all riding when I am back in town.
