Hey folks,
Peter pointed out this morning that we have a bit of a safety issue with the traditional post-A-ride gather spot where Camas Loop hits Dallas. The gathering itself is fine...but when people depart for coffee they're often inserting themselves into a confluence of B riders coming around the loop, B riders coming along Dallas from the east, or cars coming along Dallas from the east. This can create a messy situation, as it did this morning.
There seems to be an easy fix to this that we should try. Gather up after the ride ON THE OTHER SIDE OF DALLAS. Pull up to the traditional gather spot, look both ways, cross the road. Maybe move a little further west, but basically if we're across the road, we're less likely to have people absentmindedly inserting themselves into the midst of a fast rolling group. You'll still have to be careful proceeding to coffee, but you won't be doing it with your back to a group coming around the loop.
A riders are the first to gather, so it's up to you folks to set the example here. The rest of us all aspire to do like you, after all.
Thanks!
Martin
