VOLUNTEERS NEEDED INVICTUS GAMES CAMP Apr 9-13

Hello All,

As I suspect most folks know the Canadian team for the Invictus Games does a training camp out here each year. This year's team is 40 folks doing a variety of sports with 15 doing cycling (some for the first time). This event is not about high performance but rather about using the power of sport to help ill and injured service members with they journey of recovery. Its truthfully one of the more rewarding things I have had the privilege of being a part of.

What I am looking for are a few riders to come along on one or more of the 4 road rides we are hoping to do (weather permitting). There aren't any special skills needed beyond the usual tripleshot awesomeness and you don't need to be fast. the idea is to buddy up with one or more of the Invictus cyclists as we do different rides so that you can help teach them about riding and also help make sure they don't get lost or killed by peacocks etc.

The rides will all leave from Workpoint Barracks (just across the bride in Esquimalt, at the foot of Head Street) and go either to the waterfront, Beacon Hill Park or along harbour road / goose.

Last year the club was so generous with their support it actually caused complaints at the second camp when there weren't any guest riders to help out!!!!
