Bear Mountain this weekend

Post by Bosie »

Hi,

Received this from Jon Watkin: Its a bit last minute, but if anyone has some time this weekend and wishes to volunteer to help biking in Victoria see below for details:

Hi Tripleshot Friends.

The Russ Hay's Racing Society needs your help and we are hoping we can get a few TS members to come and help us at the Bear Mountain Bike Festival on March 31 - April 1. We had a number of last minute cancellations and are hoping the Tripleshot club will come through.

We still need a few volunteers for Setup on March 30, marshaling on March 31, and marshaling on April 1, and parking attendant for either March 31 or April 1. Here are details.

1 - March 30 & April 1 - Setup/Teardown
Where: Large Empty Gravel Lot at the North side of Hannington Road at Bear Mountain.

Times:
Option 1 - Setup: Friday March 30 - 9 am to 2 pm
Option 2 - Teardown: Sunday April 1 - 4pm to 9pm
Description: Unload equipment, fencing. Setup barricades, put up tents, banners and signage. For Teardown, load equipment, tear down fencing/barricades, put down tents, remove banners. There will be some lifting, but not too heavy equipment.

What to bring: Work Gloves, Boots (preferably waterproof), Warm & Water Resistant Clothing in case of cold.

2 - March 31 & April 1 - Course Marshal
Where: Large Empty Gravel Lot at the North side of Hannington Road at Bear Mountain.

Times:
Option 1 - Saturday March 31 - 8am to 12:30pm
Option 2 - Saturday March 31 - 12:30pm to 4:00 pm
Option 3 - Saturday April 1 - 8am to 12:30pm
Option 4 - Saturday April 1 - 12:30pm to 4:00 pm
Description: People will be assigned at key areas of race course and ensure that golf cart traffic on cart path is stopped while the racers pass through. Marshals will be provided with safety vest, paddle, and whistle. For key areas, marshals will be provided with radios for communication.

What to bring: Warm Gloves, Boots (preferably waterproof), Warm & Water Resistant Clothing in case of cold, small bag lunch, snacks. Marshals should have a cell phone as well for backup communications

4- March 31 & April 1 - Parking Attendant
Where: Corner of Hannington Road and Bear Mountain Parkway

Times:
Option 1 - 7am to 10 am for Saturday March 31
Option 2 - 7am to 10 am for Saturday April 1

Description: Will be responsible for ensuring that participants are directed to designated parking lots. Vendors or those with special passes will only be allowed to setup at start/finish area. Attendants will be communicating with Radios.

What to bring: Warm Gloves, Boots (preferably waterproof), Warm & Water Resistant Clothing in case of cold, small bag lunch, snacks. Must have a cell phone as well for backup communications.

Can you perhaps help rally the troops? Here are details
