Dreaming of warmer weather and carrying up to 4 bikes on a hitch rack; tray style for road, cross, mountain, and hopefully fat bikes in the future.
Anyone have any experience with the Thule XT Pro or 1up-usa racks? They seem the top picks out there but a lot of $ so want to be sure of the choice!

Check out Kuat as well. (We got ours from Rackattack in YVR a few years ago- mailed it in 48hrs). Super happy with it, super durable and bullet proof. Look at the NV 2.0 with add on of 2 bikes.
Regularly transport 4 family bikes without problems.
Its been attached to the back of our car for going on 2 years- zero maintenance apart from some WD40 occasionally.
They arent cheap, but ours was definitely worth the money.

We have the Yakima Holdup with +2 for 4 bikes (so do Hugh and Michelle). Not sure a fat bike would fit the tray though... the release for the front wheel might interfere with the front fork. Usually tooling around on our car in the 2 bike mode- same maintenance schedule as Craig. You'll want another person to help lift the rack into the retracted position if you have the +2 on (4 bikes); easy enough with the 2 bike.
The Kuat certainly looks nicer- I might have bike rack NV.

+ 1. Great warranty too. Carries all our bikes, from 24" kids bike to my plus bike, no issues. Got ours from Oak Bay bikes.Bosie wrote:Check out Kuat as well.
