Silly Solstice Ride, SUNDAY Dec 24

Post by mfarnham »

Note the changed date (compared with the newsletter), to accommodate people wanting to get Xmas Eve mileage in for their Festive 500.

Meet Cook Street Starbucks 5:30am for a warming beverage and to summon courage.
Laps start BHP 6:00am sharp, at the parking lot near the finish-line crosswalks.

I recommend running low tire pressure to help with grip, in case of icy bits.

EDIT: Ritchie Hughes contacted the city to make sure the BHP loop would be de-iced for the weekend. He was assured that it will be as soon as it's dry (probably Saturday). Thanks Ritchie! This will significantly improve the ride for us!

I just rode the BHP loop. Bone dry. Forecast dew point is -7 tonight and forecast low is -2 so it should stay dry. Snow's not expected until afternoon.

No excuses. Conditions look great. Layer up and you'll be good!
