Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
It’s growing on me, Neil. I think I still prefer the first one you put up: navy/orange, with the light-coloured chest. The argyle also seems to have gotten skinnier and sharper instead of nice and fat and relaxed.
What I *love* is the motto on the side panels! I don’t think I’d want Peter’s face close to my posterior, but his words are certainly worth veneration.
Is it Nov. 30, yet? I hope Bananaman has a few more last-minute masterpieces up his sardonic sleeve...

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
I think we're going to have some really solid designs at the end of this.
I agree with Rolf about playing up the argyle, being bold and unique with regard to colours and even a couple of niggly details - like deep-sixing the "3S" shorthand and even eliminating the word "cycling" from the kit altogether.
Keeping the coffee nice and prominent as in most (or all?) of Neil's designs is awesome. Ditto for argyle.

Hi Neil. Your designs are looking better and better, especially the shoulders/upper back argyle portion that doesn't dominate the overall look. I'm wondering if you could do the last version with a full light 'bib' as with the first argyle/orange that extended up to the collar. I felt it has a smoother look, less patchy if that makes sense. Really like the small colour accent on the collar, great contrast. Thank you for all the hard work thus far.

This one looks really sharp! I'd move the argyle on the middle back down onto the pockets though, to mirror the front and separate the 'shoulder' patches.Fozzy wrote:Here is another option.

I like your designs Neil but I think light off white colour on jerseys has been critized as dirt enhancing in the past. Also, predominately black shorts do not show dirt, are slimming and can be worn with non matching jerseys.

Since this is the most popular thread on the forum, I thought I'd briefly hijack it to remind everyone that in addition to input on kit, we're seeking input on Tripleshot Annual Awards. Please submit your nomination(s) per the instructions here.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7399
Input for Awards (not kit!) will be accepted through Sunday.
Thanks!
Martin

Nice, Geoff! You're applying Louise W.'s voodoo: mostly one inoffensive colour, with the bright orange and argyle confined to accents. This is really good.

Hello all
The design submissions deadline has come to an end. Any ideas submitted after this post will not be considered.
I just want to say a big thanks to all of you for coming up with some great ideas and designs.
The next step is whittling the design options down to a few. Once we have those, I will send out an email to all members with a link to a survey to choose the final design.
Cheers
Neil

I have been thinking a bit since my last post and perhaps a pink and orange arrangement with some blue for the old kit tie in and argil everywhere.
A bit of an abrupt end to this thread announced this evening, but no offence taken Begging for your consideration on this idea though.
cheers Norman

Leaving this topic with and encouraging word or two from Daniel Burnham 1891
"Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood...." or woman's for that matter. Be bold is my encouragement to the design selection committee. go forth and create the magic.

Donkey Label has some great looking kit designs. I like this one https://donkeylabel.com/product/dl-team-cross-jersey/ Not too far off from an argyle print.

I know we are too late, and comments this low down will not be considered, but when the vote comes down, both Heather and I prefer pink over orange.
Thanks to all for putting in so much time and thought on this project.
Peace
Eric

Postscript: here are some recently revealed 2018 pro kits. They're pretty boring.
Jonathan Vaughters has now consigned the Slipstream argyle to near-invisibility in the sleeve trim on this sorry mess:
Cav's got a disembodied hand reaching up his back:
My fave of the bunch is the German team Bora Hansgrohe (Peter Sagan's team—though of course he gets to remain in UCI whites.) Here's Marcus Burghardt:

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
Vote for Rolf's colour scheme on the cyclocross version, but with bold lines, rather than fades, similar to the classic kit style.
Need to feature the 3 cups from the original.
Should have darkest colours below the chest, especially for those of us who may benefit from a bit of contour assisted shaping... No whites are brights across the mid-section!
I suggest brighter teal with argyle across the shoulders and arms, with black or dark brown sides and mid-section. Cream broad banner across the chest, cream sleeve cuffs and teal leg cuffs...
Rudimentary sketch attached.

I'm picking up what you're putting down, Dave. But I think you're nearly two months late.
I think the Club is now pondering whether or not to form a committee to come up with a referendum question that will then determine the appropriate democratic mechanism (STV, MMPR, FPTP, or my favourite: the Prussian three-class franchise) that will be used to select the next kit.
Or Neil's just going to tell us how it is.

Or, perhaps, the current German voting system.
