I agree with Rolf's points and Craig, I really like your colour scheme and pattern!
Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
i think this is proving to be a lot of fun, but the end product {ie: something made by committee} could be truly scary!
As to what Rolf posted--I agree with his sentiment about the need to not knock people off their bikes with pink which is too bold--and to answer his question:
let me answer: There will be sponsors on the back of the kit like we have now, (yet instead of my image you get my name in big bold letters.) And maybe a unicorn as pictured... We're athletic types--we love tetherball!

Neil: is leaving the club name off the back of your, Geoff's and Isla's designs intentional? Also: will there be sponsor names on this new kit? Or does the club now get sufficient funding from elsewhere that we no longer need to be walking (riding) ads?

I’m starting to think animal cruelty is more than just a hobby, Alan.

I could easily procrastinate for many hours doing this...

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
With the newer lettering, I may have solved Clare's anatomy issue....
Today a friend described a cycling jersey as 'a cycling safety vest' which means visibility is a huge requirement. Last spring I was cycling Munn's Road and as we spread out on the downhills, I glanced down at the road, then back to the rider 15-20 meters in front of me and for a moment I couldn't see him. Then his movement caught my eye, not his jersey - it blended in. If I can't see a cyclist at a glance when I'm looking for him/her, a driver won't see him when he's not. The next weekend I was picking my son up from a friend's in Cadboro Bay and saw Eric doing hills, training for Sardenia. My eyes easily picked him out when I wasn't looking for him - he was wearing the old baby blue's.
I never was a huge fan of the easter egg style (sorry Galen) but loved the kit as a 'safety vest'.
I've tried to incorporate enough of the light blue so TS'ers can 'mix and match', while keeping the visibility high and adding (my idea of) a little more style with a dash of red to increase visibility and flare. (I'm having difficulty adding clip art coffee cups. Those are my limitations as a designer).
I think we should keep the word 'Cycling' on the jersey. I've seen a few members wearing their TS wind jacket around town when not cycling. It's good advertising for our club.
White just doesn't cut it as a main colour for obvious reasons. It shows everything (and Rolf, that includes a grey so light it looks white).
I think Neil's designs also look sharp. Orange and pink don't quite do it form me but I like the idea. And I really like the front of Neil's jersey - the cup pattern - but again, could skip the orange. And orange and light blue don't go together.
I've enjoyed this process (and thanks for the support from Norm, Barton and Louise among others who like my design). Whether Neil makes the decision on his own, has people vote on it, or consults the executive, I'm fine either way.
November is coming to a close, so if you want to post some more ideas or make comments, now's the time.

Wow! So many great ideas. I'm a big fan of input, but ultimately a decision is made by someONE. Neil, you've put in so many hours, and with so much thought. I'll buy your kit. All of it. Can't wait to see the final design!

Pink and a logo.

I went with a subtle graphic version. This jersey was actually produced by Champion Systems in Australia. Smaller details can be added by more savvy individuals. I was thinking of replacing one of the "ridges" with a light pink or similar accent as a homage to the older kits.

Here is another.
Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
There is clearly an Orange Revolution afoot. Do we have some freedom-lovin' Ukrainians on our selection committee? I think I liked the lower abdomen darker blue, Neil—like the first skinsuit you did.
I call zis one "Blue Orca" (I found some argyle, but haven't managed to make it a transparent layer. I'd prefer the sides here to have colour too.)

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
I forced myself to play with some orange. This is the best I could come up with over a coffee break.
Then I tried just one sleeve orange. And ended up here:
Which led to this:
Which led to these A riders?
p.s. I really like Kenji's mountain vistas. Perhaps someone with more skillz could play with it?

Thanks! I already have the matching socks. Also second a tune up on the basic idea.Rolf wrote:p.s. I really like Kenji's mountain vistas. Perhaps someone with more skillz could play with it?

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
Rolf. The mountainous terrain on Kenji's design is great, but I feel that those of us who are lacking hill climbing prowess may be a bit intimidated by the amount of vertical present. As you have pointed out, using subtle colours on the kit would make us less "macho". So with that in mind, I don't want to be sending the wrong message to any newcomers.

Softer "pepto pink" version courtesy of MS paint. Neil - I'm a sprinter at heart so its just for the aesthetic.

Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
See?! That’s a mackin’ jersey right there. And the Tripleshot Pink would grace the softest part of our tummies. Where tickles work best. Nothing to be afraid of, Neil.
Re: Kit Design Ideas - WE NEED YOU!!!!
Hmm...should I vote for Ukrainian freedom fighters or for Joy Division?

What about something with more bananas?

Imagine something in neon pink (or swap for neon green) for viz. Need something so we're seen a dark o'clock in the morning.
I still like the Argyle heritage, although that mountain one is pretty cool too...
