Ok all you hard cores, now you can all quantify your winter toughness using the Jens scale.

Re: Winter gloating scale
I distinctly recall walking out of Pure Vanilla at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 after a slightly abbreviated hills ride and a rushed coffee and thinking, "Damn, it's too cold to be out here!" I may or may not have used a word other than "Damn".
But Environment Canada says it was only -12 with the windchill. Sadly only hardcore enough for JENS Factor 3.

Re: Winter gloating scale
Anyone know how to make a graph 3D with precipitation/ice? I can see GP's for ml of water squeezed out of gloves at coffee. Or how about 4D, with distance? Or 5D with precip, distance, and how many times Bruce goes off the front?
The fifth dimension? There's even a sound track there. "Up - Up And (Break)Away", "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In", and "(Last Ride) I Didn't Get To Draft At All".
Back to your regularly scheduled hallucination...

Re: Winter gloating scale
A proper Jens Factor would account for precipitation equivalent to standing under a garden hose. This was this morning’s meet-up:
Three crossers and three roadies (Peter joined en route) got a jump on their winter gloating points.
Re: Winter gloating scale
Wow, Rolf. Kudos to you for digging up a post that is almost eight years old!
There were two more roadies out, but we left a bit later and only did two laps of the box due to time constraints.

Glad you made it out, Ann. We did see your beau at coffee.

Hey Rolf - speaking of winter gloating points, see if you can dig up the post where Captain Physics (EricS) weighed his wet kit after an epic winter ride and then re-weighed it after washing/drying. There were photos and everything!

Josh put all his wet winter stuff in a bag and on the scale in April 2010 and found it weighed 11 pounds.
I seem to recall what you're talking about, but I can't find it either. Eric?
