Recommendations for case for carbon bike for air travel

Post by L2R »

I am thinking of taking my road bike with me to Mexico and wonder if anyone knows what the best travel case for a carbon bike would be? I would prefer not to go with a cardboard bike box as I need to get the bike back when we return. Suggestions?

Thanks for the offer, Peter but we are going for an extended period. I will likely buy one new or pick up a used one if I can find one.

I bought a biknd Jetpack this year and it works really well. I love the inflatable airbags that protect your bike as well as the frame stand. It also has a 360 degree opening that makes it convenient for loading and unloading.

I've got an Evoc soft bag that I took around Europe that works well. Collapses down for storage and not going with a hard case avoids overweight airline fees (in addition to bike bag fees that vary a huge amount between airlines)
