The Long-Awaited Inaugural Tripleshot Track Day and Barbecue is Happening!
Saturday, May 13, 10:00am-2:00pm at the Westshore Velodrome (bring $10 cash, and pre-register online)
Learn to Ride at the Velodrome along with other Tripleshot Club members in a fun, friendly environment. This is a subsidized Tripleshot event for club members and family. Come to ride, participate, cheer or just to eat. You can learn how to ride a track bike, how to ride on the sloped velodrome, plus basic safety and track etiquette. Once everyone is comfortable (it happens surprisingly quickly), we will do some friendly timed events and fun races.
But wait there's more....there will also be food! We will be barbecuing burgers and have some snacks, but you are welcome to also bring some barbecue side dishes to share - time to get competitive with your favourite potato salad, coleslaw or cookie recipe!
Please pre-register online: https://www.gvva.bc.ca/product/triplesh ... istration/ for each participant and use the passcode: TSC2017
Please arrive at the velodrome on Saturday, May 13 with a crisp $10 bill per person. Track bikes will be available to ride, just bring your cycling clothes, your helmet, pedals, and cycling shoes.
If you have any questions about riding at the velodrome, talk to Amy, Neil, Martin, Brenna, Shawn or Lister.

Re: TS Track Day @ the Velodrome, Saturday, May 13th, 2017
I had a few questions, and in case I'm not the only one, I thought I'd post to share:
* My son is 8 and doesn't have shoes or pedals (yet). Is it possible to borrow at the Velodrome? Or from someone within the club with appropriately small size shoes? He's size 2.
* Is the fee only required for members/family that plan to use the track, or for all members/family that are attending the bbq?
* Do we have to shave our legs before we're allowed onto the track?
Thanks!

Hi Brad
Don't worry about the shoes and pedals thing. The track bikes have pedals with clips, so your son can wear runners.
Not sure about the fee
As you ride, I would have assumed your legs would already be shaved
Cheers

Hi Paul - glad you managed the registration! Basically, it's signing your waiver in advance, and helping us to get an idea of numbers, so we have enough food.
Yes - burgers, buns, various toppings, drinks and snacks are provided. Bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share. If you're riding out, bring it in a backpack. We will have coolers and ice.
Brad - the online registration/waiver is for anyone who will be riding (or who will be in a non-spectator area of the velodrome (past the yellow fence), for insurance reasons. The $10.00 is to cover part of the track rental/lessons as well as the food. If there is a mix of both attending, we could negotiate a $20.00 family rate.

The following message was sent by email to these registered. If you didn't get the email, you didn't register. We still have space, so register online tomorrow ...
Hi Tripleshot Track Day Participants!
Thank you for signing up for Tripleshot Track Day. A few notices about weather issues and reminders …
We can’t ride on the sloped surface of the track if it’s raining or still wet, but there are other things we can do to get used to track bikes, and practice skills. So, if there are a few showers on Saturday morning, that won’t be a problem. If it looks like it is going to rain non-stop all day, it will be cancelled/postponed. If it is cancelled, I’ll send out an email on Friday evening.
Reminders:
Track bikes are available to ride, just bring cycling clothes, your helmet, pedals, and cycling shoes (flat pedals are available at the track, if needed). Bring $10.00 and some food to share for the barbecue. We’ll have burgers, buns, condiments, etc, as well as some snacks.
It’s on Saturday, May 13, 10:00 – 2:00 at the Westshore Velodrome http://www.gvva.bc.ca/location/
