Wendell, I was just logging in to PM you about that truck and whether you could catch a plate number. He made another appearance up by the McDonalds as we turned off the highway (yelling at us manically out his window)...might be worth checking your film just in case.
No number. By the time the truck came into view of the camera he was already heading onto the Pat Bay (likely to find a grandma to tailgate) and well out of view.
A couple screws loose is giving him a bit too much credit.
BTW - I sent you a PM about some potential strategies
Let's reprise for tomorrow. Even if it's a little damp. My standards for "decent riding weather" have experienced a downgrading since the Winter of Frozen Roads. A little warm water never hurt anyone, right?
I revise my moderate enthusiasm and upgrade it to a more standard "Yay, I want to ride my bike with friends at 6am" level due to this more encouraging forecast:
Okay, so last week was pretty grim. I didn't suffer alone, but only just barely. Tomorrow looks much more promising in the weather department (although I'll only believe a high of 20 degrees if I see/feel it myself). I promise it won't rain. And that if it does, I'm going home!
For the real hardcores, select sufferfesters have been known to occasionally double-dip and hook up with the 9am OBB ride after. Not for me this week, but one day soon...
Back at the beginning of this post (see page 1) I referenced this post from a temporary resurrection back in January when the roads were miraculously ice-free for a very brief period.
The details are in a few locations for those willing to click around (too tired from today's triathlon silliness, Kevin?) but I'll pander and restate the departure time (6:03) and place (Cook St Sbux) in the hopes it will save you enough energy to join us in the morning.

I'm not sure what this means. The dogma of papal infallibility is fairly clear: his hats befit the solemnity of the pontiff's traditional role as the successor to Saint Peter.
For reasons I won't go into because it'll make me more grumpy, I am unlikely to be there tomorrow at 6. Super-sad-face. Have fun and uphold the legacy of quietly enjoyable suffering in my absence.
You're a true hardcore, Dave. I tried again at 9am with Oak Bay but tore off my rear derailleur. Going to try again at 2:30pm. Hopefully, third time lucky.
