I swear by interval training. Short efforts + high intensity = big gains.

I've been focusing on LIIT workouts this winter: Low Intensity Interval Training
You go easy for 30 s, then recover for 5 min. Repeat.
So good. I'm feeling really fresh right now. Not sure about speed, but I think that will come as I lengthen the rest periods.
