Re: Cross is Here!
Great ride this morning. Thanks Geoff and gang for leading the way.
Re: Cross is Here!
Super fun route this morning! Thanks for the excellent, competent guiding, Geoff. And thanks to whoever bought that awesome Pure Vanilla coffee. I think we maxed out at 11, with a few who came and went.
Here's a 30-second clip of our lights in the dark. And a still from the same video: I hope to do something longer and cross-y on Sunday. If you're not heading up to Port Alberni COTR and you can do some guiding through Thetis/Hartland, I'll buy you an oatmeal at 7:15, Fairfield 'Bucks.

Rolf, Martin - do you guys have any firmer plans on possible cross-ish ride sunday morning?
What time will you leave SBX? Approximate ride length? Route?
Signed,
Indecisive about Sunday morning ride.....

Re: Cross is Here!
I'm inferring from Rolf's post that we'd leave with the 7:30 crowd from Fairfield Starbucks but head out to Thetis and surrounding areas. I can get us through Thetis--Francis King--Hartland which is a solid ride, with options to extend from there if people don't feel sufficiently beat up.

Re: Cross is Here!
I'm guessing you'll be cruising up the goose, passing by the switch around 750?
If you don't see me on my road bike at SBX, I'll meet you guys at the switch.

Dang. I'm out. Nocturnal nausea (not mine) is keeping me grounded. Have a good ride!
Re: Cross is Here!
Sorry to hear that Rolf! We had a nocturnal sleep disruptor last night too but I made myself feel better by telling myself "at least no one is throwing up."
Martin, I'm still planning to ride to the switch bridge just in case you're checking.

Nice to cross paths with you guys this morning. Who was the third? I only caught LF and MF... Hope you had a good ride. I'd totally tag along another time when I'm not getting off work... I know the Hartland and Thetis trails pretty well too.
p.s. I am not the devil!

Sounds like a resolution to be debated at the next coffee.p.s. I am not the devil!
The third musketeer was Tom B. We had a good explore out at Royal Roads (deviated from the original plan of Thetis-Hartland). Saw Tripleshotters everywhere (including Lister driving to Pt. Alberni with a rackful of bikes) on that ride.

Re: Cross is Here!
Tuesday morning cross? I'll be there on knobbies if anyone else is interested.

Might be a good way to hide from the wind. Y'know, if you're soft and scared of wind. And road rides.

Wednesday night, October 26th - Mandy and I are gonna skip the Alley Cat and go for a cross ride tomorrow night, probably heading out on the peninsula to get on some different terrain. We should be leaving from the switch bridge about 5:00 if anyone is interested in joining. Tacos to follow!
