I saw that happen, I was in one of the following heats. It was at Starcrossed CX in Seattle. It was a SS eliminator tournament. A 1 lap race race with a very short lap. Winner goes through to next round. They had a straight section going into the barriers, so everybody was going into them at full sprint. Recipe for disaster. I seem to remember they modified the course for the next heat, put in some extra corners I think.
