TTT crash this am...

Post by alan boden »

Just a reminder that when we are in the paceline it is important that people on the front need to communicate potential hazards (such as a rider up) for those riding in the paceline behind them.
This morning's crash might have been avoided that way...and an innocent Castelli jersey might not have lost its life.

Yup, my bad. Very sorry Alan. Things happened quickly and as I started to move right to go around the commuter, she swerved out into the middle of the lane. I was just starting to move my hand back to signal a move right, when this happened, and I had to grab my bars and avoid her swerve. I do apologize for not calling out, and will do so in the future. As my first TTT ride this year, I was a noob.

The commuter probably swerved in shock at the sound of 4 bikes bearing down on her. I like to yell ahead "on your right". They will usually get the swerving over with before you get there. i could be wrong, but my 2 cents
