First things first: if you lost a pump on the Beacon Hill laps this morning, LMK. If you can provide make, model, serial number and photographic evidence that it's yours, I'll return it. Otherwise you can buy it on eBay tomorrow.
The other thing: with the advent of A2, the labelling/numbering of the rides has become baffling well beyond my mental capacity. So in the interests of building a more robust and full-bodied Tripleshot brand, I'd like to propose a Caffè Americano theme.
C = decaf
B = regular
A = long shot
For different tiers within each grouping it's all about the number of shots, starting at the top with high-test quad shots. And if you're inclined to note the relative size of the group you rode with, you can use short, tall, grande and venti.
So if, as this morning, the A group is large and you ride with the A's, you're starting your day with a venti quad long-shot Americano. A smallish B3 group, by contrast, would be a tall double-shot Americano. The even smaller group of B's ahead of them would be a short triple-shot. And dozen or so C's would make a grande decaf.
So simple and intuitive it's almost unbelievable!

I think I may have won the very first "short triple-shot long-shot" sprint ever!
Andrew
P.S. Thanks for the lead-out Steve
P.P.S. Having a slow afternoon?

Let's extend the metaphor. Is it foggy outside? Make that ride a Caffè Misto. Nighttime pedalling? Shots in the dark. Did you win the sprint? Extra sweet.
Ride with it, people. Just like Andrew did.
Yay Andrew.

Re: Found your pump + proposed naming convention for group r
So.....approximately how many shots (and of what) did you have before coming up with this new naming convention??

Just enough of just the right thing, it seems.Greg F wrote:So.....approximately how many shots (and of what) did you have before coming up with this new naming convention??

Re: Found your pump + proposed naming convention for group r
Close enough.
When would you like to pick it up/get it from me? Do you need some time to pull together the hefty reward?

So For the A ride:
if you make it to:
1) Ash on an A ride, it a single Shot Long shot.
2) Caddie Bay, a double Shot Long Shot.
3) KGT a Triple shot Long Shot
4) Beacon Hill a Quad Shot Long shot?
Is the A2 ride the "short shot" or maybe a Latte?

Things were going well for you up top, Craig, but you lost your focus on the final point. Yesterday's A2 ride (4-5 riders) would be a tall (or short), triple shot, long shot. Andrew nailed that one. His was extra sweet. Yesterday's large and expanding first B group would have been a regular, quad, venti Americano.Bosie wrote:So For the A ride:

I'm a little fuzzy on the weather modifiers for Americanos, though. You can't really "hold the whip" to indicate only fair conditions. But I guess you could brew it extra hot for those scorching summer days.

Extra sweet for one of us...ClaireM wrote:Bosie wrote: Yesterday's large and expanding first B group would have been a regular, quad, venti Americano.
