Wednesday Night Cross - Oct 14th

Post by gav_eaton »

YES! Looks like the latest cross rave (the mean race) is at the spot I always thought would be a winner:

Meet in the little parking lot on Grange St, just off the Goose, just north of Mackenzie on the right.

Good times for all!!

Right, good one Roland - forgot to mention that part. 5:45 it is.

My goal for this week is to work on my re-mounts at race pace - so I DON'T have any more groin injury stories to share on the weekend rides!

Quick question.

Are cycle-cross tires imperative?

Not necessarily, but if you want to stay rubber-side down - yes.

Are you thinking road slicks? I would use a mountain bike before a road bike if that's what you're getting at.

I have a set of worn cross tires if you need some - you could throw them on as a temp solution if needs be. They would be enough to get you through. And I live only a km from tonight's course.

Thanks, Gav

Unfortunately I've got to rush home to be on kid duty. Thought I may have been able to sneak it in. Perhaps next week.

For future reference, I have an extra set of Mavic Aksiums with cross tires and a 10 speed cassette that can be borrowed on Wednesday nights.
