MEC Bikefest - Tripleshot looking for 6-8 more volunteers

Post by John D »

Hi all;

Once again we've been invited to take part in MEC's Bikefest. This year's event runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, April 30th, on Government Street in front of MEC. We usually set up our Tripleshot tents and just talk up the club to people as they pass by. Alan usually brings along a "historical" collection of old TSC jerseys to display.

Anyhow, I need to give MEC an answer ASAP. Is anyone willing to step up and coordinate 6-8 volunteers to set up and take down the tents and take shifts at the TSC table?

Thanks,
J.

This is a good idea. I could help with setup and the first two hour shift.

I'd be able to help for at least 4 hours during that day.

I've done this. I bring a trainer and spin a little—without getting too sweaty and unapproachable to the curious. :roll: Future Tripleshotters stop by and ask questions and there are lots of other interesting participants from the cycling community.

Unfortunately, I'll be in Ottawa for meetings that weekend and can't volunteer. :(

So far we have three volunteers for this event. We need at least 8 to make this work. If you can help the club out by volunteering for even part of April 30th, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all of you who have volunteered thus far.

I have volunteered to organize the volunteers.

I will send each of you a PM, if you can email me back to paulashaw@shaw.ca with your email address, your availability etc. that would be great.

If you haven't signed up yet, but would like to volunteer, please email me.

thanks

Thanks to all of those who have offered to help out at the bikefest. I have made a schedule and sent it out to all the volunteers. If you haven't volunteered and would like to at this event, stop by the tripleshot tent and see if the people on duty want a break.

Thanks everyone!
