Recommendations for awesome women's road/race bike

Post by sherritran »

Hi all,

On the market for a women's specific or very small-framed road and race bike for the spring and summer. I've been riding the Focus Izalco 47 cm but it's much too long and too stretched out for me and it's time to retire that and move onto a better fitting (and lighter) bike.

I'm a fan of the Ridleys (might even be too big) and Specialised, but would love to hear if anyone has any good recommendations (specific models?) for a small, light and fast bikes. I'm 5'2 and weigh about 100 lbs and would like something fit for climbing.

Thanks!

My wife's your height and really likes her Specialized Ruby (2013 model). Even disc options now.

I love my specialized Ruby elite. I got both of mine off used Victoria. Buying secondhand is the way too go!! a bike fitting with Dave and Barb is a worthwhile investment too!

My wife has 44cm Cannondale Synapse if you're finding if even the other brands smallest bikes are still too big. Other brands were too big, but you've got 3" on her.

Oh yeah... 700c wheels still, toe overlap isn't awful.
