Beach Drive Closure

Attention all Tuesday early risers.

As of 4:30pm this afternoon, Beach Dr. was closed between Newport and King George Terrace for paving.

According to the flag person, they expect to have the section between King George and Transit (or thereabouts) finished by 7pm tonight. The remaining section to Newport is being done tomorrow. Not sure if they plan on opening any of the finished section, so best to assume otherwise.

I took the following detour: right on Newport, left on Island, left on Central, left on Victoria, left on Beach

There are also signs up indicating a closure of Beach Dr. on Sunday between 8 and 12 for the Marathon. Not sure exactly where and whether bikes are permitted.

They won't let bikes on the marathon route, or they didn't last year when I ran in it.
