There's a cycling activist in England who embarrasses the city into fixing potholes by painting penises around them.

I have found that Saanich and Victoria public works pretty responsive when you call them and tell them about a bad pothole, and remind them that lawyers ride in our group. Things happen fast, especially with the idea their negligence is exciting our lawyers. If this tactic no longer works, we may need to resort to genitalia graffiti...
